inAm I the only one who just learned how old the trees in my neighborhood park are?
Totally get that feeling. Found a cornerstone on my library with the builder's initials and 1898 carved into it. Makes you stop and picture the world when that thing was just set in place. Now I look for dates on everything, manhole covers, old bricks, the works. It's like a free history lesson hiding in plain sight.

inA lady at the grocery store in Austin gave me a free tomato plant last week
Free plants are a nice idea, but they can cause real problems. That tomato plant might carry pests or diseases into your garden, wiping out everything you already grow. It's also likely a variety not suited for our local climate, so it'll probably just die after wasting your time and water. People should buy from trusted nurseries where plants are inspected and labeled properly. Random acts of gardening kindness can end up creating more work and disappointment.

inWarning: My friend told me to skip the first 15 episodes of One Piece and I regret it
Mark's a genius, skip the part where you learn who these people are and why you should care about them. Next he'll tell you to start a book at chapter ten and just guess what happened before. The whole point is the journey, not just getting to the big fights.

inWarning about using a 3/8 impact driver on those new Samsung washer pump bolts
Snapping the head off" sounds like a torque setting issue, not the bolt's fault.

inUnpopular opinion: I used to think board game nights were just about the game
That game is the best when it falls apart. We just leaned into the chaos last time. Someone wrote "bad hair day" and the next person drew a crying onion with crazy scribbles. Letting go of the score and just enjoying the weird drawings is the whole point.
