PSA: My coworker said my 2pm meeting joke was bad, but Karen laughed so hard she choked on her pretzel
At the Tuesday team huddle in the break room, Dave told me my joke about TPS reports was "dumb" and just stared at the wall. Then Karen snorted so loud she shot a pretzel piece across the table and everyone lost it for 5 solid minutes. So here is my debate: does the joke count as funny if exactly one person nearly dies laughing while the other person judges you? I say yes, but Dave says no, and we need the internet to settle this.

Disagree with Dave on this one. Comedy is not a vote where you need a majority to win, it is about getting a real reaction from at least one person. Karen choking on a pretzel is proof the joke landed, and Dave just has a bad sense of humor or was in a mood that day. One person laughing so hard they almost die is way better than a polite chuckle from a whole room. If anything, Dave being annoyed makes it funnier because it shows the joke had some bite to it. So yeah, your joke counts as funny, and the internet should back you up on this.
