inI finally calmed a horse that hated the nippers
Friend's colt spooked at nippers. He tapped them on wood first, not like @emma_dixon70's farrier.

inRealized too late that my comms cable was frayed during a salvage job (you can't shout through water, so check your gear twice)
Yeah, that "another set of eyes" thing is key. Checking your own gear twice is good, but you get blind to your own setup. A good buddy will run their hand along your cable while you're kitting up, feeling for that slight bump or stiffness you might miss. They'll spot the weak point at the connector you've plugged and unplugged a hundred times. Solo checks fail because you're just going through the motions on your own stuff.

inQuestion about reviving wilted porch plants
Letting the top inch dry is key, but move wilted plants to shade so they can recover.

inShowerthought: Giving up fast wifi actually improved my remote work
Switched to my library's awful public wifi last year after my home net died. Could only load basic web pages between 10am and 2pm. Started blocking out those four hours just for writing reports and planning the next week, stuff that didn't need the web. Actually finished my work early because I couldn't procrastinate on social media or get lost down some research rabbit hole. The forced focus was painful at first but kinda amazing.
