inVent: A customer at the Saturday market called my work 'just a hobby'
Read a thing about a baker who spent 12 hours on a wedding cake, and the bride's mom just said "it's fine" without even looking. The details were insane, like hand-piped lace and sugar flowers that looked real. People just see the final thing, not the hours of work that went into it.

inUpdate: My cheap water filter cost me a whole day on the John Muir Trail
How rough, and yeah @ericj45, a full day sounds totally possible.

inRant: I thought you needed a huge table for a good game night, but I was wrong
Our old apartment had a tiny kitchen table, maybe three feet wide. We played Catan on it every Friday and you're right, it forced everyone into that tight circle. Drew_reed62 has the right idea with the folding table, we used a TV tray for the extra player's stuff. That closeness made the trades feel more personal, like you were really cutting a deal. A big table just doesn't create the same kind of energy.

inMy dad always told me to never trust a load chart from a rental company without checking it myself.
Yeah, that "close call" feeling is the worst. I've gotten so paranoid I basically redo the math from scratch now, @the_xena. It adds time but beats the alternative.

inVent: I was at a local business meetup in Austin and a guy told me his 5 person company hit $2 million in revenue just by focusing on one niche service.
Bet @eric_knight7's buddy also saves a fortune on water bills, which is the real gold mine in Phoenix.
