The day a loose cannon plug in Wichita grounded a whole King Air and taught me to slow down
I spent 2 hours chasing a nav fault on a King Air in Wichita last Tuesday while the real problem sat behind a cannon plug that took 5 seconds to seat, and honestly it reminded me that back when I started on old King Air 90s you could almost hear the radios hum when things were right, so I am curious if you guys have a go-to trick for tracking down intermittent connector problems before you start pulling panels.
Learned that lesson on a 1900 years back when a flap issue turned out to be a pin that backed out of a cannon plug just enough to break contact in the cold. Now I wiggle every harness I can reach and watch the meter before I even think about pulling a panel. Takes five minutes and saves you an afternoon.
