Update: I was checking thermostats on a 5 year old fridge for 3 hours before I saw the real problem

The owner mentioned the freezer was fine but the fridge side was warm. I was so focused on the usual suspects, I almost missed the tiny ice dam behind the crisper drawer. It was blocking the air channel completely. How often do you guys find the simple visual check saves you from a deep dive?

Serious question, had to choose between a 4-foot frost depth and a 6-foot for a big cedar job in Minneapolis last month.

Honestly, the ground was still pretty hard and the client wanted to save cash, so I went with the 4-foot posts. Ngl, we had a major lean after that last big freeze and now I'm redoing half the line. What's the absolute minimum depth you all use for a northern winter like that?

Two summers ago, we had a solid week where the sky was this weird orange color from a huge wildfire about 200 miles away (it was honestly kind of scary). Had to choose between a full re-stretch or a patch on a huge bubble

Client in a Phoenix condo wanted it cheap, so I went with the patch using a seam iron and a big piece of leftover. It held for about a month before the whole section started to lift again. Anyone know a better adhesive for patching over old padding?
