The day I spent 8 hours chasing a phantom ground loop on a CRJ-200
Last month I had this nightmare shift where every check I ran on the comm system came back clean, but the captain kept hearing static. Turned out a ground strap behind the avionics bay had cracked insulation from a previous repair, and it only acted up when the plane vibrated during taxi. Has anyone else dealt with intermittent electrical gremlins that just vanish during bench testing?

...and that's exactly the kind of thing that makes you question your own sanity. I had a similar deal with an old Ford pickup where the radio would cut out only when I hit a bump turning left. Spent a whole weekend checking grounds before I found a wire that rubbed through against the dashboard frame. Never showed up on the bench, just had to chase it down by driving around and hitting potholes.

Ain't that the truth? Had a similar headache with a lawnmower that would die only when going uphill to the left. Turned out to be a tiny crack in the fuel line that only opened up under the angle and vibration. You really learn to appreciate the weird stuff once you've chased a ghost like that.
