Dried beans vs canned, I finally switched after 12 years

I always bought canned black beans, 88 cents a can at Aldi. Last month I tried a 2 pound bag of dried ones for $1.79. Soaked overnight, cooked for an hour. Got about 5 cans worth. The texture was way better too, not mushy. Only downside is planning ahead. Anyone else make the swap and go back to canned for convenience?

Did you maybe get a bad can of beans before? I've never had mushy canned ones, they're always firm enough for me. I get the cost thing but I don't have the patience to soak things overnight, plus I forget like half the time. Canned is just grab and go after work, I'll pay the extra 50 cents for that.

plus honestly @dianahayes the whole overnight soak thing always slips my mind too, canned's just easier.
