The guy next to me on his laptop called pour-over coffee 'pretentious' and I nearly lost it
I was sitting at my regular spot in a little shop in Denver, just minding my own business, and this dude goes off on a rant about how pour-over is just for show and tastes the same as drip. I wanted to point out that he was drinking a caramel frappe with extra whip, but I kept my mouth shut. Honestly, if you can't taste the difference between a fresh pour-over and a pot that's been sitting for 2 hours, that's on your taste buds, not the method. It takes maybe 4 minutes to make and the flavor is SO much more defined. Has anyone else had to bite their tongue when someone dumps on a brewing style they clearly haven't tried properly?
