My grandpa was right about putting out water for birds in winter

Oh man, you just reminded me of something wild. That little hole in the ice actually keeps them from getting their feet wet and freezing too, because they land on the edge.

Why nobody talks about how good those cheap Pittsburgh torque wrenches are

Wait, is it really that bad though? I've got two of those Pittsburgh wrenches and both have been spot on every time I've checked them cheap beam style and even a Harbor Freight click type. I've used mine on about a dozen different jobs from brake calipers to engine mounts and never had a problem with accuracy. Maybe you got a lemon or you didn't store it right because they can get knocked out of calibration if you drop them or leave them set to a high torque. I'd say check it again after clicking it down to zero and resetting it, might fix your issue.

Vent: I used to think people who talked to their dogs were weird

Had a buddy who got so fed up with his GPS rerouting him through a dirt road that he yelled "You're fired" at it and unplugged it right there. Spent the next hour lost in the woods before admitting defeat and plugging it back in.

Caught a live demo at a convention in Chicago that changed my layer workflow

That clipping mask trick works but the wording is a little off. Clipping masks attach to the layer below, so what Sam probably showed was using separate layers for shadows and highlights each with their own clipping mask linked to the base color layer. That way you can paint shadows on one layer and highlights on another without either one touching the sketch underneath. I saw a similar thing at a smaller con in Austin where the artist stacked five or six clipped layers just for a single face. Keeps everything modular, which is great for revisions like you said.

Was team Procreate for years, but Clip Studio Paint won me over after doing a 30-day trial

Procreate brush feel is hard to beat. Kept me on it for years too.
