Hot take: the 2 minute rule for dishes is real and my sink has stayed empty for 9 days
I called it a cute internet trick until I tried rinsing each plate the second I set it down and now I am weirdly proud of an empty sink at 11pm, so what small rule did you assume was nonsense until it actually worked?
