My mom said my grocery list was why I kept blowing $300 a month, and she was right
I used to walk into the store with a list of meals in my head and walk out $300 lighter every month. My mom looked at my receipt from Kroger in March and just said "you're shopping for recipes, not for food." Took me a while to get what she meant. I was buying one random ingredient for one dish and letting the rest rot in the drawer. So I flipped it. Now I buy the cheap base stuff first and build meals around whatever was on sale that week. Cut my monthly bill to $180 in two months. How do you all handle the stuff you buy for one recipe and never touch again?
