inI used to walk with my head down, now I always look up
That "seeing the whole picture" thing is a real life upgrade.

inMy comic shop guy in Phoenix called me out for only buying number one issues
Oh man, this is such a real thing. I see it everywhere, not just comics. People get hooked on the idea of the "start" of something, like a new hobby or diet, and they collect all the gear or day-one plans but never actually get into the real, good, messy middle part where you actually get better at it. It's like wanting the trophy without playing the game. Your comic guy did you a solid, honestly.

inVent: A simple brick arch took me three whole days to get right
So what's the secret, just being really stubborn? (My arches always look like a sad cartoon smile until I give up.)

inMy new light pollution filter was a total waste of $180
Wait, you shoot in raw for filtered astro shots? @susan649 that's a whole other level of effort. I just assumed everyone was using jpeg for that kind of thing because the files are so huge. The idea of stacking raw files with those filters sounds like a full time job just for one picture. No wonder my single frames always look so weird and washed out, I'm missing like all the steps.

inAppreciation post: I tried putting my phone in a drawer for an hour after dinner
Oh, the drawer trick is key because you can still hear a buzz if it's urgent. I actually read a thriller, the kind where you have to know what happens next so you don't even think about your phone. @michael_jenkins39, putting it in another room leaves that nagging "what if" feeling. With the drawer, it's out of sight but not totally gone, which tricks your brain into letting go. Finished the last hundred pages in one sitting because I wasn't tempted to check notifications every five minutes.
