Showerthought: my password manager says I have 214 logins and I only remember 3 of them
Seeing that number pop up during a cleanup last month honestly freaked me out, because if that vault ever dies I am locked out of my whole life. Does anyone keep a hard copy backup somewhere, or am I just being paranoid?

Locked out of my whole life hits hard, and the real risk is fire or flood taking both your phone and any paper copy.

We went through a house fire two years ago and lost my husband's phone and the fire safe with our birth certificates and passports in it. The safe was supposedly fire rated but the water from the hoses got in anyway. What saved us was having a backup drive at my mom's house in another state and storing scans in two different cloud accounts, not just the one that came with our phones. Now I keep a small waterproof pouch with copies in our go bag and update the digital stuff every few months. Takes twenty minutes and it's way less painful than starting over at the DMV with no ID.
