Just realized cold brew is actually better than hot brewing for my morning cup
My buddy Marcus kept telling me for two years to try cold brew because he knows I drink my coffee iced year round. I always blew him off because the whole process sounded like too much work and I figured hot coffee cooled down tastes the same anyway. Two weeks ago I finally caved and made my first batch in a mason jar with some coarse ground beans from a local roaster in Portland. I let it sit for 16 hours in the fridge and when I poured it over ice the next morning I could not believe the difference. Zero bitterness, way smoother, and I actually tasted some chocolate notes that I never got from my drip maker. Now I make a batch every Sunday and it lasts me through Wednesday without losing any flavor. Any of you tried cold brew concentrate vs ready to drink stuff, does it actually make a difference?
