Idk I feel like this whole thing with tracking numbers in business is kind of the same as how people track their calories or steps or whatever. Like my friend was convinced she was eating healthy until she actually wrote down everything for a week and found out her "healthy" granola had as much sugar as a candy bar. It's that moment where you realize your gut feeling is totally off and the data just shows you something different. I think we all have these blind spots where we assume something is working because we want it to work, but the numbers tell a different story. It's kind of humbling honestly.

Pooling is nature's way of telling me my paint choices were wrong, I swear. Flat finishes are like that friend who's fun at parties but totally unreliable when things get real. @josepha32 probably watches his paint turn into a mini lake while the rest of us just stare in horror. At some point you have to ask yourself if the whole flat look is worth the risk of a backyard swimming pool situation.

Phoenix is brutal on equipment too, I feel you. I had a similar moment with my pressure washing side gig when I hit 40 regulars and realized my $75 per driveway was barely covering the chemical costs for the summer heat. At $95, I lost two people and actually had breathing room to replace my wand when it blew a seal. Your $15 loss per visit is the killer, it sneaks up on you because the cash comes in regular but the bank account never grows. Watch your truck maintenance too, Phoenix dust and gravel tear up brakes faster than you'd think.

That's rough, genuinely. I've had similar letdowns with variant drops at my local shop, it's like the collector hype just vanished for a lot of these. Your mileage may vary, but I feel like the market got flooded and people got picky.
