Am I the only one who can't watch a seasonal anime without a spreadsheet anymore?
Back in 2018 I just picked whatever looked cool on the Crunchyroll banner and let it ride. If a show fell off, I dropped it by episode 4 and never thought about it again. Now I keep a Google Sheet with columns for studio, source material, episode count, and a 1 to 5 rating. Last season I tracked 14 shows and my top pick was a thing I almost skipped because the thumbnail looked dumb. I spend more time sorting cells than actually watching, which my roommate pointed out while I was updating it during dinner. The sheet did help me notice I keep finishing slow slice of life stuff and quitting every isekai by episode 6. But it also turned a fun hobby into homework. Does anyone else track their shows like this, or am I ruining anime for myself?
