inShoutout to the guy who told me to stop sanding plywood edges by hand
Trim routers kick up a ton of dust and you can't really control the depth perfectly on thin edges. Hand sanding may be slower but at least you aren't blowing sawdust all over a finished room.

inPSA: stop relying on AllTrails for route planning in the Sierra
Yeah I get what you're saying @hugo_robinson25, but I actually lean the other way on this. I've had the opposite problem where Caltopo made a route look way harder than it really was because of all the contour lines and I almost talked myself out of a perfectly good hike. For me AllTrails has been pretty reliable for the kind of day hikes I do, even if they're a bit generous on the difficulty ratings sometimes. I think the real issue is that no single app can tell you what the exposure feels like in person, you know? Different strokes I guess, but I'll probably stick with what's been working for me.

inSwitched to mesh tape after a nasty callback near Denver last fall
Actually real quick, the FibaTape Ultra is a mesh tape not a paper tape. It doesn't bubble the same way paper does because of the weave, but it can still get moisture behind it if you dont press it in good. The pre-fill coat thing works way better with paper tape since it helps the mud grip the paper fibers. With mesh tape you kinda want the opposite, you want the mud to go through the holes so it locks in tight. Putting a pre-fill coat under mesh can actually cause it to not bond right cause the mud cant squeeze through. Not trying to be that guy but I learned that one the hard way.

inThat contractor at the Albuquerque convention center renovation made me rethink caulking completely
Albuquerque dry air makes silicone last way longer on baseboards.

inMy AI writing assistant kept suggesting the same three words so I finally checked the training data
I mean is "circle back and leverage core synergies" really that bad? Feels like people overreact to this stuff.
