Guy at the camera swap in Portland handed me a roll of film and said 'shoot it at 1600, trust me'
So I'm at the Portland camera swap last Saturday and this older guy named Dale with a beat up Nikon F2 keeps eyeing my Yashica. He finally walks over, pulls a roll of Tri-X out of his jacket pocket, and says shoot it at 1600, trust me, then just walks off before I can ask anything. I get it home, shoot the whole roll at 1600, develop it at home with way more time in the soup, and the grain is so chunky it looks like sandpaper, but honestly I kind of love it? Has anyone else had a random stranger at a swap push a film speed on them like that?
