inMy boss laughed when I skipped pre-twisting, but now he does it too
Newer boxes and plated screws hold way better. Makes the old tight-twist habit kind of pointless unless things are really worn out.

inMy caulking gun epiphany after a messy bathroom redo
Actually dish soap can leave a film. @martinez.kim try just water next time. Works better and no sticky stuff later.

Which fix got so annoying you had to do it right away?

inMy first boss taught me avionics with a bucket of spare parts and a challenge
Honestly, watching someone freeze up near a flight panel because they're too scared to touch anything is kinda funny. @young.nora has a point about that gut feeling from rebuilding junk, but let's be real, some panels look like they'll bite you. I once saw a tech jump back from a blinking light like it was a snake. Tbh, if you've never accidentally caused a minor beep during testing, have you even lived? Ngl, the best lessons come from knowing which wires not to pull while also not being afraid to get your hands dirty.

inPuzzled over random transponder failures since the last patch
Software patches sometimes feel like when I try to fix a leaky faucet and accidentally loosen the pipes in the next room. Ground tests are great, but they don't always catch what happens in the real world up in the air. My first guess would be something with timing or temperature changes during flight that the update messed with. Been there before, chasing a ghost that only showed up when the system got a little cold and busy. Maybe start logging every single thing happening right before each failure, see if a pattern shows up.
