I was wrong about the whole 'no music in the kitchen' rule

We tried an audiobook once... the quiet focus was actually pretty nice.

My big plan to switch to project management crashed hard last quarter

Ouch, that's a rough spot to be in. Honestly, my cousin tried the same career jump and had a similar meltdown over a kitchen remodel plan. He's super quiet but great with numbers, right? He made this perfect timeline, but his contractor just did things out of order for "logistical reasons." Makes you wonder if being loud really matters, or if some people just won't follow a plan unless they helped make it.

My neighbor said his old 10-speed shifts better than any modern bike after I fixed it

That's a really interesting point. So when a customer brings in a bike like that, do you find yourself explaining the actual benefits of newer parts, or do you just make their old stuff work as well as it can? I guess it's about figuring out if they truly don't want change, or if they just don't know what they're missing.

Warning: I bought a $40 'budgeting app subscription' that just turned out to be a fancy spreadsheet.

That subscription model is a common trick. I saw one app that was just a wrapper for a free Google Sheets template, charging $8 a month. It's smart to check if the core tool is something you can get for free before you commit.

PSA: I switched from a standard 10-inch trowel to a 12-inch for a big foundation job in Tacoma.

Honestly though, is the extra weight and learning curve really worth it for a few less loads? My 12 inch does fine on long runs, and I'm not fighting a bigger trowel all day. Seems like a lot of hype for a couple inches of steel.
