Rug or carpet tiles for a rental living room? I picked one and wish I'd asked first
I finally got tired of looking at bland beige carpet in my duplex, so last week I bought a 6x9 wool rug for $120 and now the whole room feels warmer, but I'm worried about vacuum wear in the high traffic path. Has anyone else dealt with wool rugs flattening out, or should I swap to carpet tiles before I return this one?
Wool does flatten where you walk, but it's not ruined, it just looks a little worn in that lane. You can flip the rug around every few months and vacuum with the beater bar off so it doesn't pull at the fibers. Carpet tiles in a rental have their own pain, usually glue or sticky tabs and a seam that shows. For 120 bucks, keep the rug and stop worrying about it.
