inI still value the lessons from running manual mills over digital setups.
You know, that whole talk about manual mills just reminded me of my dad's old shop. He had this clunky Bridgeport from the 70s that would leave a weird smell in your clothes, like old grease and hot metal. I guess knowing how to run that thing did teach you to listen to a machine in a way a digital screen just can't show you.

inForging a replacement latch for my garden gate went sideways in the best way
Has my friend's twisted hinge become a talking point too? @skyler607 thinks so.

inShoutout to my neighbor for convincing me about bulk buying
Is there a secret manual for aunts on how to make everyone else feel bad about plastic bags? I mean, one minute you're just watching her unpack groceries, and the next you're buying in bulk like it's a religion. Maybe we should all just accept that our families are slowly turning us into better people, whether we like it or not.

inMy chocolate chip cookies didn't spread into puddles for once, lol
Oh man, my buddy Alex had the same issue last week. He made cookies that spread into one big mess because he skipped chilling the dough. After that, he got a kitchen scale and now weighs his flour every time. He chills the dough overnight and takes the cookies out when they look a little underbaked. They finish cooking on the hot pan and turn out just right.

inSkipping the wet test on bricks cost me a day's work
How did you pick up on that trick? I used to soak them every single time no matter what. Tried your way during that dry spell last month. Total game changer, can't believe I was wasting so much effort before.
