Something so similar happened to me at a local game store tournament. We were playing Catan and I had a settlement on a spot that was kind of between two hexes, and this older dude pulls out a mini tape measure from his jacket and starts measuring the distance to prove my settlement was "illegally placed." The whole table just watched him do this like we were on a nature documentary. He was dead serious too, not joking at all, and the store owner had to come over and tell him to put it away. After that he was chill the rest of the night but I kept my eye on that jacket pocket every time he reached into it. Some people just really want to be right about board games I guess.
