After my smart plug decided to take a permanent vacation from my network, I had to admit defeat. I bought it to feel like Tony Stark, but ended up more like the guy who can't even program his VCR. Now my lamp is back on a dumb timer, and honestly, it's a relief. The smart home dream is great until you're rebooting your router at 2 AM. I keep the plug in a drawer as a reminder of my hubris. Lesson learned, sometimes old school is the way to go.

Totally get that, it's INFURIATING. Had the same thing last month ordering some network cables online, swore they were the right length.
