The $85 crimper I cussed out for a month turned out to be right

Everybody at my shop swears by the $300 ratcheting crimper, but I bought the cheap $85 one for a rewire job on a Cessna 172 last month and it pulled every pin clean. The trick was setting the dies right, which nobody told me for the first three connectors I mangled. What's the tool you almost threw in the trash before you figured out how to actually use it?
