Struggling with basic rock ID during outdoor trips

I love collecting rocks when I'm outside, but I always get stuck trying to name them. For instance, I picked up a brownish stone that could be sandstone or siltstone. They feel different, but without a guide, I'm just guessing. It's frustrating because online resources assume you know terms I don't. I end up with a box of unknowns. How do you guys get better at this without taking a class?

I finally tried speed painting for my digital art, but my friend says it skips important steps. What do you think?

Stopped using foil for my pork butt and the difference is wild

Tbh, I always wrapped my pork butt in foil when it hit the stall. But I saw a pitmaster online say to skip it. Honestly, I was sure the meat would turn out dry. Ngl, I tried it last weekend and just let it cook with no wrap. The bark got so much better, really dark and crackly. The inside was still tender, but it took like two hours longer. Now I'm stuck thinking if I should do this for all my smokes. Have you guys tried going no-wrap? What tips do you have?

It was so puffy and shiny (like, seriously, how did anyone walk in that?), I almost bought it for a laugh. My neighbor saw me and now we're planning a 'bad taste' party.
