I finally tried speed painting for my digital art, but my friend says it skips important steps. What do you think?

I get why your friend says it skips steps, but speed painting teaches you a different skill set. It forces you to work on instinct and flow, which is super useful. I would not call that skipping steps at all lol.

Speed painting might skip some steps, but is that a bad thing? (just wondering out loud here.) @patricia558 has a point about it teaching instinct, but I'm not sure it's that serious. Art doesn't always need every single step, right? Sometimes jumping in can help you learn faster. Your friend might be worried about basics, but speed painting is just another way to practice. In the end, it's all about what works for you, not following rules strictly.
