Update: The thrift store by my house put out a mannequin wearing a wedding dress from the 80s

It was so puffy and shiny (like, seriously, how did anyone walk in that?), I almost bought it for a laugh. My neighbor saw me and now we're planning a 'bad taste' party.

Honestly, that's such a mood. I've noticed thrift stores are full of these time capsule outfits that spark the weirdest ideas. Last month, my friend found a neon tracksuit and we ended up hosting a 90s workout video night. It's like we're all looking for excuses to laugh at the past together.

My cousin’s old Richard Simmons tape had the best upbeat soundtrack. That music was made to keep you moving, not win awards. There’s a reason those songs were picked, they actually work for exercise. It’s easy to call it awful now, but it fit the energy of the time perfectly. The cheese is part of the fun and makes the whole thing memorable. Without those synths and drum machines, it just wouldn’t be the same experience.
