Question about charging my brother for a deck repair

But since when did family start charging each other for basic help? If your brother needed a hand moving, you wouldn't send him an invoice for your time and gas, lol. It's a deck, not a client job, so treating it like a business deal feels kinda cold. Sometimes you just do stuff for people you care about without running the numbers.

Setting limits with relatives who expect free mechanic work

Yeah, this hits home. It's a pattern you see in all kinds of relationships, not just family. Help someone once with a small task, and suddenly it's expected every time. That quiet scorekeeping ruins more friendships than any argument. Being clear about limits from the start avoids so much trouble down the road.

My grandma taught me how to make ink from berries, and now I'm hooked on old writing methods.

How to clean berry stains? Rubbing alcohol worked for me lol.

My chocolate chip cookies didn't spread into puddles for once, lol

Chilling the dough overnight was a game changer for me too. Weighing the flour like @the_michael mentioned finally fixed my flat cookie problem. Pulling them out when they look a tiny bit raw in the middle lets them set up perfect on the pan.

PSA: All this single-use plastic in bullet journal kits is such a waste

Ugh, the packaging thing is so real. Got a single pen in the mail once and it was in a box big enough for shoes, stuffed with those plastic air bags. Felt so wasteful just throwing it all out.
