inHad a guy in the chair yesterday who wanted a 'slight trim' and then pulled out a picture of a 1920s silent film star
Just gotta ask for a reference photo first.

inMy aunt swore by using a splash of lemon-lime soda in flower food for roses.
My carnations always drooped after three days no matter what I did. I thought the flower food packets were the only real trick. Tried the angled cut under the tap last month and it was a total game changer. They stayed perky for a full eight days, which never happens at my house. I guess I was wrong to ignore the stem cutting method for so long.

inJust hit 500 hours on my backyard telescope mount and it feels wild
But tracking hobbies could just turn them into another chore, stripping away the joy of doing something just for fun.

inSerious question, I keep seeing people try to press flowers in old books without using parchment paper first.
Ever try pressing a really juicy stem? That's where I learned my lesson. I used to be like @the_miles, just tossing things in books, until some damp dandelion greens basically glued my favorite paperback shut. Now I just use a cut up paper bag between the flower and the page. It's not fussy, it's free, and my books don't get wrecked.

inI finally figured out my weird kimchi problem after three months
Oh wow, that's a solid find. I read something a while back about how chlorine in water can actually kill off the good bacteria you need to get the ferment going right. Makes total sense it would turn things to mush if the microbes can't do their job. Glad you got it sorted, that's the kind of simple fix that drives you nuts until you figure it out.
