My smart scale decided I was a ghost for a full week

This thing is supposed to track weight and body fat, but after a firmware update last Tuesday, it just stopped registering me. I'd step on, it would light up, then show a zero reading and go back to sleep. My partner stepped on and it worked fine. I checked the manual, reset it twice, and even changed the batteries. Nothing. I finally called support and the guy said, and I quote, 'Sometimes they just forget people.' Has anyone had a gadget just stop recognizing them completely? What did you do to fix it?

Try stepping on with wet feet.
