Got a call about a G1000 autopilot fault on a 172 at our field in Fresno.

Used to just swap the GIA 63 units to test, took half a day. Now I hook up the laptop and run the diagnostic log first. Found a bad roll servo in 20 minutes last week. What's your go-to for quick G1000 fault isolation?

Ever check the database for known issues before you even touch the plane? I wasted a whole morning once before finding a service bulletin about a specific fault code that pointed right to a wiring harness. Saved me from pulling the wrong box.

My buddy in Phoenix found a bad magnetometer by checking the system voltages first.

Remember when the fix for everything was just smacking the side of the unit? Good times.
