@harper_foster Hit 400 on mine and my wife said the same thing.

My house is from the 1920s so I feel this pain hard. Tried that method once but my block slipped halfway through and I ended up with a line that looked like a seismograph reading. Switched to using a contour gauge for the really bad sections, takes forever but saves on wasted baseboard. Had a buddy who used a hot glue gun to attach his pencil to the block, swore by it.

Saw a YouTube hairstylist break down the same thing a few months back. She talked about how most people section off from the crown straight down but really you gotta follow the natural curve of the head. Totally changed how I do my own layers at home. Good on you for finally getting that lightbulb moment though better late than never.
