Showerthought: my $60 induction plate boils water in 3 minutes while my gas stove needs 9
Bought a $60 induction plate for my apartment kitchen in Austin last month and timed it against my old gas stove, and the induction hit a rolling boil in 3 minutes versus 9 for the gas, which got me wondering how many people are still cooking on gas just out of habit, so what made you finally ditch yours or why are you keeping it?
How long did it take you to get used to the switch though? I kept my gas stove for like a year after getting an induction plate because I was worried about cooking stuff that needs a real flame, but honestly once I started using it for everyday stuff like pasta and eggs I barely touched the gas one. The thing that finally made me unplug the gas stove was realizing I was just used to it and not actually getting better results.
