inFinally bought a $150 screen calibrator after my prints kept coming out muddy.
My old Epson would turn every sky into a weird purple mess on matte paper. I downloaded a free profile from the paper company's website and it was like getting a new printer. The greens in my forest photos finally looked real, not like neon slime.

Yeah, I had my car battery die in a grocery store lot last winter. Just sat there for ten minutes feeling like an idiot. Finally got out, popped the hood, and made eye contact with the next guy walking to his truck. He came right over with jumper cables. Turns out most people are just waiting for a clear signal to step in.

Your buddy's point about building a family clientele is the long game. Maybe a small upcharge for the real wigglers balances the extra time without scaring off the parents.
