Spent $80 on a rock hammer and it saved my whole trip
I was out near Sedona trying to get a clean sample of some banded chert, but my old hammer just kept shattering the pieces I wanted. I finally bought a decent Estwing rock pick for about eighty bucks before I went back out. Anyone have a favorite tool for getting good samples without wrecking them?

Wait, you actually thought that was too much? I'm shook. That's like the bare minimum these days, no lie. I can't even imagine going back to how things were before. It's honestly wild to me that anyone ever saw it as extra.
