Walked into a fabric district in LA last weekend and saw something sketchy
I went to the garment district downtown to find some denim for a jacket project. Half the shops had the same synthetic blends labeled as 100% cotton on the front tags. Checked the back labels and they listed polyester at 60%. How are people supposed to make breathable clothes when even the suppliers are lying to you? Has anyone else caught mislabeling at a wholesale spot?

I've gotten to where I check fabric labels with the suspicion of someone who once tried to iron a "linen" shirt that turned out to be 100% plastic. Found three whole different cotton percentages on one roll of "raw denim" last month and just walked out.

Three shops in that district sold me "vintage deadstock" denim that was clearly pre-distressed modern fabric with fake selvage lines. I mean, is it really that deep when you're just making a jacket though. Idk, swap the alt tags if it bugs you that much and move on to the next roll.

Honestly that changes things, @adamthompson's experience with the cotton percentages makes me realize I was too trusting of those labels too.
