My neighbor said I was scaring the birds away with my feeder placement
I had my feeder right by the kitchen window so I could watch them up close, but an old birder told me the reflection off the glass was making them nervous and they'd fly off fast. I moved it 15 feet into the yard last week and now the cardinals hang around for minutes instead of seconds. Has anyone else dealt with finding the right spot for their feeder?

My buddy put his feeder by a window and the birds kept crashing into it.

Yeah I used to roll my eyes at window warnings but that changed my mind honestly.

Window strikes get overblown sometimes. Sure, it happens, but most birds learn real fast. A few thumps and they figure out the window is there, especially if the feeder's right up against it. Your buddy could just move it a few feet away and see if the problem fixes itself without stressing too hard.
