Check your anchors and make sure you hit a stud. Drywall anchors alone won't hold much weight for long. That's always a fixable problem.

Ugh, my shelf crashed last week... those plastic anchors just gave out.

Also, spreading the weight across several anchors can help when a stud isn't available.
