Went to the old missile base near Roswell and the official story still doesn't add up for me
I was out there last month, and the visitor center is just a small building with a few blurry photos. The guide said the 1947 crash was a weather balloon, but the metal debris descriptions from the original report mention material that 'remembered its shape' after being crumpled. That's not standard balloon tech. They've had over 70 years to give a better explanation. Has anyone else been there and felt the official tour leaves out too much?

Yeah, the "material that remembered its shape" detail is the part that gets me every time. It just doesn't fit the weather balloon story at all. The whole tour feels like it's designed to make you stop asking questions. I left feeling more curious than when I arrived.

That visitor center is basically a master class in how to make a huge story seem boring. They hand you a pamphlet and hope your curiosity deflates faster than their fake weather balloon. It's the least convincing cover-up I've ever paid money to see.

Have you considered that the material might have been an early memory alloy test? Those were being researched around that time, and a secret project would explain the weird story. The tour is basic, but that doesn't mean the cover-up is about aliens.
