Finally fixed my comic box problem after years of bent corners
I was at my local shop in Portland last week and watched a dude slide a short box into his trunk sideways and crush a corner. That reminded me how I lost a $300 Amazing Spider-Man run back in 2017 because my boxes were just stacked loose. I grabbed some 2x4s and built a simple frame that keeps the boxes upright and snug, cost me maybe 12 bucks total. Has anyone else rigged up a storage setup that actually protects your books or am I overthinking this?

Wall mount is the way to go man, I bolted some 2x4 tracks right into the studs.

Did you brace the 2x4 frame against a wall so it can't tip over? I learned that lesson after a stack of long boxes shifted overnight and I spent an hour sorting a mess of silver age books that got bent. Built a wall-mounted rack out of scrap lumber and some L brackets from the hardware store, strongest $15 I ever spent.

My buddy Dave tried that "just stack em flat" method and crushed a whole run of 90s X-Men comics when his cat decided to sleep on top of the pile. He was so mad he built a wooden crate with dividers the next weekend and now his books are bulletproof.
