That laptop spill at Blue Bottle in Brooklyn taught me a hard lesson
I was at Blue Bottle on Lafayette in Brooklyn last Tuesday, typing away on a project when this guy next to me bumped the table and sent his entire iced latte right onto my laptop keyboard. The thing went black in about 5 seconds. I yanked the power cord and flipped it upside down, but it was too late. I didn't have a backup from the last 3 hours of work, which was my own fault. I ended up paying $220 for a repair place in Williamsburg to dry it out and replace the motherboard. Now I keep a ziplock bag in my bag for emergencies and always hit save before getting any coffee drink near my machine. Has anyone else dealt with a coffee shop disaster that cost you real money?

220 bucks for a motherboard? That's brutal.

650 is a decent chunk but that's not even top tier anymore. Prices are just dumb these days.

Oh come on, what would you actually spend on a top-tier build right now (like, genuinely curious)?
