Cold brew skeptic turned believer after one bad pour-over

I always thought cold brew was just a gimmick until I messed up my pour-over at a shop in Portland last Tuesday and the barista handed me a free cold brew instead. The smoothness without any bitterness finally clicked for me. Anyone else have a coffee method they wrote off until trying it the right way?

That barista in Portland knew exactly what she was doing handing you that cold brew. It proves how much the person making the coffee matters, even with simple methods like soaking grounds in water. One thoughtful pour can totally flip your view on a whole category of drinks.

Funny how one bad experience can open the door to something you'd been ignoring. Reminds me of how I spent years avoiding avocados because the first one I tried was mealy and flavorless. Turns out you just need the right preparation and a little patience. Coffee's the same way. People give up on whole categories based on one lousy version of it.
