Spent 30 minutes dialing in my grinder only to find the burrs were upside down

I was at my kitchen counter last Sunday morning, frustrated that my pour over was coming out bitter no matter what I did. I took apart my Baratza Encore to clean it and realized I had installed the outer burr carrier ring backwards after my last deep clean. Fixed it in 2 minutes and the next cup tasted totally different. Has anyone else made a dumb assembly mistake that wasted a ton of coffee?

Doubt it made that much difference honestly.

Notice how people downplay small changes all the time. My neighbor spent weeks adjusting his thermostat by 2 degrees and it knocked $30 off his bill each month. Those little tweaks add up over a year.

Your point about the thermostat is a solid example. I've seen similar stuff where people think a tiny adjustment won't do anything, but it really adds up over months and years. It's not just about temperature either, little changes in habits like unplugging chargers or turning off lights in empty rooms can shave off a noticeable chunk. Your neighbor stuck with it for weeks and got real results, which is more than most people will try. My own electric bill went down around $15 a month just from unplugging stuff when not in use, and that felt like free money after a year. Your mileage may vary, but I'd wager most folks would see a difference if they gave it a solid month.
