inHeads up on those new Samsung fridge ice makers
Oh man, that metal gear fix @murray.drew found is smart, but I worry about wear on the other plastic parts now. Putting a harder gear in might just move the weak point somewhere else, you know? It's a solid fix, but maybe not the last one you'll ever do.

inI walked past this weird rock pile for months thinking it was just trash
My brain just files random piles under "not my problem" and moves on. The number of times I've ignored what turned out to be important mail because it was next to a pizza flyer is embarrassing. We're all just out here missing treasures because they look like trash. Probably walked past a million bucks thinking it was a weird chair.

inJust read that a single jar of sauerkraut can have more live bacteria than a whole bottle of probiotic pills
Live culture bomb" is a good way to put it, but I'm with miles_garcia on this one. That wild mix in kraut might not be what your gut actually needs to fix a specific problem.

inQuestion about chasing a phantom static line fault on a G1000
My 1998 Civic had a turn signal that only worked when the heater was on high. I spent two winters signaling left turns by blasting hot air at the windshield. Fixed it by hitting the dash and then it just stopped working completely. Classic ghost in the machine.

inOverheard a guy on the train say his 45-minute ride is his 'thinking time'
That's so real. It feels like we're all scared of being alone with our own thoughts now. Like, you see people walking their dogs with airpods in, or even waiting in line at the grocery store staring at their phone. That train guy might be onto something. Constant noise just keeps your brain busy without actually getting anything sorted out. A little quiet time might be the hack we all need but are too wired to try.
