Serious question, my friend told me my pour-over was way too fast and it made all the difference.

He said my 15-second brew for a V60 was just washing the grounds, so I slowed it to 45 seconds for the bloom and now the flavor is so much deeper... what's your ideal pour time?

Totally get what your friend means, that fast pour just rushes past the coffee. I aim for around a minute total for the bloom and pour, really letting it sit and bubble up first. It feels like the grounds actually get a chance to soak up the water instead of just getting wet. Slowing down made my morning cup way less sour, like night and day difference lol.

That's a solid point from patricia558 about letting the bloom really do its thing. It reminds me of the time I tried to rush a pour-over for a friend who was in a hurry, and it tasted like straight up battery acid lmao. Made me realize that even when I'm running late, those extra thirty seconds are non-negotiable. The whole process just falls apart if you don't let the coffee wake up first, you know?

Slowing down my pour changed my coffee game too.
