My gooseneck kettle just gave up on me this morning

I was about to pour for my morning V60 and the handle snapped clean off, sending hot water everywhere. It was a cheap one I got online maybe 18 months ago, so I guess I got what I paid for. Had to finish the pour with a regular kitchen kettle, and the flow was all wrong, totally messed up the brew. I'm looking at a Hario Buono now, but they're not cheap. Anyone have a solid kettle that's lasted more than a couple years?

It's crazy how cheap stuff breaks right after the warranty ends.

Planned obsolescence feels like a tax on being broke. They know we can't afford to replace things constantly.

It's such a scam, @dianaanderson. I started buying used older models of appliances when mine die. The ones built ten years ago often last longer than the new cheap ones. You have to hunt a bit, but it saves so much money. It's the only way I've found to fight back without going broke.
