Heard a barista say 'dark roast has the most caffeine' and I snapped
I was standing at this little shop in Austin last Saturday, and the barista told a customer that dark roast beans have way more caffeine than light roast. I just stood there like, no, it's actually the opposite, light roast is denser so you get slightly more caffeine per scoop. Has anyone else had to bite their tongue when someone gets basic coffee facts totally wrong?

Oh wow, I feel you so hard on this. @milaw14, I get that it's not a huge deal to some people, but it drives me nuts when basic facts get repeated as gospel like that. It's not just about the caffeine difference - it's the principle of spreading wrong info that makes everyone dumber over time. I've been in that exact spot where I had to physically stop myself from correcting someone because I didn't want to be "that guy" in line. Honestly, the worst part is when they say it with so much confidence like they're an expert. You're not wrong for snapping, that tiny bit of false knowledge adds up and makes the whole roasting process seem backwards to people.

Does it really matter all that much though? Most people aren't going to notice a difference in caffeine between roasts unless they're drinking multiple cups a day anyway. Seems like a small mix-up to get worked up over.
