The week my town's air turned orange from wildfire smoke
Two summers ago, we had a solid week where the sky was this weird orange color from a huge wildfire about 200 miles away (it was honestly kind of scary). It made the whole 'climate change is far off' thing feel very real and close, you know? Some people said it was a freak event, but others pointed out these fires are getting more common and worse. Has your area had a season that just felt totally different because of the weather?

Wait, a super mild winter is your example? That orange sky week felt like living on Mars.

Yeah, that orange sky week vera514 mentioned was something else. I had a buddy out west who sent pictures and it looked like a bad filter on everything. Weirdest part was how quiet it got, like the whole world was holding its breath. Makes you realize how thin the normal really is sometimes.

Remember freak weather happens all the time in history without it meaning the whole climate is broken. That orange sky sounds wild, but calling one weird week proof of a bigger trend seems like a jump. My area had a super mild winter once, and everyone freaked out, but the next year was back to normal. Sometimes it's just a bad season, not a sign of the end times.
